Pre season proving tough

Paulton went down to lower league opposition as missed chances were punished by Cribbs in the second half.

Rovers were missing five players who have put pen to paper whilst fielding quite a few trailist.

Dale Evans free kick was met by Jamie Laird and headed off the line then Evans corner on the right was headed over by Joe Hillard.

Rovers 17 year old keeper made a number of excellent saves before Cribbs striker Dowdell ran on to a deep cross to beat the youngster to give the hosts the lead.

Ten minutes after the restart Dowdell launched on to a misplaced pass round the unlucky Forster to tap home.

Six minutes later and Rovers inability to close down saw Wilkinson slot home a third.

Two minutes later Paulton were awarded a soft penalty as centre forward Jack Ball was alleged to have been pushed off the ball and he struck a firmly taken spot kick to reduce the deficit.

With six minutes left Jack McKeens popped up on the right to fire home Cribbs fourth.

Rovers need to improve rapidly as they travel to face Bridgwater Town on Thursday 26 July kick off 7-45 pm.
