Rovers sunk in Pompey

Rovers were undone by a big physical experienced Moneyfields side who converted their chances.

Paulton keeper Adam Forster twice saved from Steve Hitchings however he could not stop Monies taking the lead on 17 minutes as Dan Wooden crossed and Joseph Briggs drove home.

Rovers pressed with Jack Ball and Ryan Gay testing the home keeper Steve Mowthorne.

It was 2-0 on 39 minutes as Rob Evans crossed from the right and Hitchings turned the ball home.

On the stroke of half time Paulton pulled a goal back as Ben Withey's free kick on the left was headed into the net by Sammy Jordan.

On the hour mark Briggs crossed from the left and Wooden headed home for 3-1. Forster then made another quality save from Hitchings before Withey split the home defence and Jordan raced on, to be thwarted by Mowthorne.

The Monies increased the tally as Connor Bailey fierce free kick gave Forster no chance.

Jordan tried a half volley from Gay's cross which sailed wide.

In added time Moneyfields made it 5-1 as Evans crossed and sub Harry Potter turned the ball past Forster.
