10 YEARS ON FROM NORWICH

LIVING THE DREAM

It's 10 years to the day since Paulton Rovers welcomed Norwich City in the 1st Round proper of the FA Cup.

Andy Jones, manager at the time had seen his side win five matches to reach that round. He coined the phrase 'LIVING THE DREAM' had t-shirts, scarfs creates and got the whole community behind his team.

The match was shown live on ITV with a
12-45 p.m. lunchtime kick off. The crowd was limited to 2070 on the day another 750 people could have easily fitted into Winterfield Road. Tickets sold like hot cakes and just about covered the cost of extra seating, security and police and catering.

'Jonah' effectively moved much of his business day to day to the club, along with then club secretary Andy Harris and a number of others who worked tirelessly in the two weeks prior to the big day.

Most of the players have largely retired although from time to time, some are seen back at the club.

So for everyone involved in the club, management, committee, players and the supporters it certainly was 'LIVING THE DREAM'.

Oh and the result? Well..........
