Rovers recover to a deserved win

Paulton came from behind with three second half goals to seal an away win.

Early chances for Rovers saw Dave Sims-Burgess cross met by Ben Bament whose goal bound effort was touched on to the cross bar by keeper Joe Moore and cleared thenEd Butcher fired over and then bring a save from stopper.

Joe Perry in Rovers goal saved well from the tricky Billy Tucker who then crossed for Charlie Lawrence to head the ball into Perry's arms.

Three minutes from the break Bideford were awarded a dubious penalty as Turner appeared to lose his footing and Tucker thumped home the spot kick.

Rovers came out brightly and Cam Shorney was running midfield and had several shots blocked or cleared.

Tucker had a fierce shot blocked and the ball was cleared down the left and Ben Bament screwed the ball back to Shorney who controlled and hit a thunder bolt past Moore on 65 minutes.

Paulton were on top and went ahead after 76 minutes as Ali Sen crossed Sims-Burgess header was saved by Moore and Bament followed up to shoot home.

Bament then appeared to be pushed in the back, a clear penalty waived aside but on 82 minutes Rovers were awarded a soft spot kick as Bament was ruled by the referee to have been fouled by Moore. He then converted from the spot to completed the scoring.
