Rovers rue missed chances

Paulton rue missed chances as unbeaten run comes to an end

Paulton started the better of the sides as Ed Butchers shot was saved by visiting keeper Paul Strudley.

Two minutes later Jake Sloggett's counter attack was just too long for the incoming Ed Butcher.

Rovers took the lead on 14 minutes as Sloggett's well timed pass into the feet of Dave Sims-Burgess who slotted it past Strudley

Thatcham responded quickly with Adam Kelly’s shot was saved by Joe Perry.

On the 34th minute Kyle Toozes counter was met by Joe Selman who gave The Kingfisher's an equaliser.

Just before half time Charlie Hitchings was fouled by Tooze who received a yellow card for the foul. Tooze was then sent off for dissent or an apparent push on the referee.

Both teams started brightly in the second half with Butcher and Barcelos for Paulton and Thatcham respectively, both having chances

Thatcham made it 2-1 with 16 minutes to go as Jordan Williams’ cross went straight past Perry who was left stranded in the Rovers goal

With five minutes left the ball came off a defender in front of goal fell to Ryan Gay in front of goal only to miss the target.

Paulton look to get back to winning ways as they travel to Bideford on Tuesday night

Entertainment value 3 out of 5
