BRISTOL MANOR FARM 2 v 1 PAULTON ROVERS

Paulton playing their final away friendly lost 2-1 to Bristol Manor Farm despite having the greater possession.

Former Clevedon player George Brimson had a easy tap in for 'The Farm' after nine minutes, but was adjudged offside.

Rovers hit back with Marcus Mapstone heading over from Brandon Barnes cornerand Ryan Batten tried a long range effort which was spilt by home keeper Ashley Clarke and the ball was cleared.

Paulton went behind on nineteen minutes when Mapstone took Brimson's legs from under him and left back Billy Down converted the penalty.

Three minutes later and Manor Farm added a second after Mapstone slipped to allow Jack Durrant through to beat Connor Thompson in the visitors goal.

Barnes sent Batten down the right only for his centre to hit the side netting and Brimson responded chasing a long ball which was cut out by Scott Brice.

Ten minutes before the break Brimson bore down on goal and looked certain to score only to trip up on his own feet!

Barnes had a great chance to pull one back, breaking through he set himself up to curl the ball into the right hand side of Clarke's net. His shot narrowly going wide.

Jon Davies should have found the net after fifty three minutes put through by Barnes. However Rovers did get that allusive goal four minutes later.

Ollie Knowles was fouled on the right and Barnes swing in the ball left footed for Dean Evans to head home to make it 2-1.

Barnes had a chance to level pulling his drive across goal whilst at the other end Thompson saved from Reece Hodgson who then hit another shot high over the bar.

Clarke kept his side ahead parrying a shot from Davies which Josh Klein-Davies nearly got on the end of.

Tomorrow Saturday 2 August Paulton play their final pre-season friendly at home to Welsh Premier League side Port Talbot Town.
