PAULTON ROVERS 3 v 0 FLEET TOWN

Fleet Town visited Winterfield Road in the 1st round of the FA Trophy which Paulton won 3-0 to pocket £2700 prize money.

Paulton eased into the next round of the FA Trophy on Saturday 15 November where they will be away to the winner of the replay between Suffolk based Leiston at Leighton Town after they drew 2-2 last weekend.

Rovers had to overcome a determined Fleet side who had the better play in the first fifteen minutes when Jack Francis headed over with the goal at his mercy.

On 18 minutes Rovers made it 1-0 when Scott Wilson slotted home after a period of sustained pressure.

It was 2-0 after 34 minutes when Brandon Barnes picked up loose ball to fire low past Ryan Pryce.

Paulton maintained a high tempo in the second period with the lively Darren Jefferies on for the injured Barnes creating numerous chances.

With Shayne Anson and Scott Brice stopping the threat of the visiting striker Simba Mlamba it was no surprise when Rovers made it 3-0.

Jefferies cut inside from the right set the ball into the path of Jon Davies who drove low past Pryce in the sixty third minute.

Fleet's best chance came late on when Jack Francis tried to chip home stopper Kyle Phillips to no avail.
