Rovers lost 2-0 to Chesham United in the FA Cup 2nd Qualifying Round disappointingly going out despite long periods of dominance. They lost Bristol Rovers loanee Dominic Thomas after 6 minutes as he went to hospital with a nasty injury.
Josh Morgan-Williams turned and brought a fine save from Reading loanee George Legg as the keeper conceded a corner.
On 17 minutes Chesham saw a shot from Bruce Wilson deflected and well held by Rovers stopper Ben John.
Matt Taylor crossed and visiting captain Toby Little headed wide. Paulton responded when Aaron Brown's free kick was headed by Craig Allan and defender Allan was again busy clearing at the other end as 'The Generals pressed.
Ryan Blake made several threatening run and was well held by Josh Ford on as sub for Thomas. Rovers then lost striker Ben Bament as half time approached.
Rovers came out with greater threat and within the first five minutes Morgan-Williams had a shot blocked and Cam Brown saw his follow up meet a similar end.
Legg palmed away the ball from Ricketts cross after Jordan Walker and Morgan- Williams linked on the build up.
John likewise palmed away a shot from Matt Taylor. Rovers had a great chance when Allan again headed over from Aaron Brown's free kick.
Chesham took the lead on 64 minutes as Blake chased a long ball and hit a low shot that went in of the post.
They doubled the score eight minues later as Dave Pearce broke down the right and slipped the ball for Blake to turn the ball home.
Blake again had the ball in the net only for it to be ruled out for offside.
There was too much aerial play from both sides as Paulton tried to get back into the game.
They nearly did with five minutes left as Cam Brown's cross brought a point blank save from Legg.
