Paulton threatened from the start and Sol Wheatley's cross found Kyle Tooze who turned and shot deflected for a corner.
Leon Jeanne was lively down the left wing for Rovers and on 15 minuteshe hit a firm drive well held by Taunton keeper Lloyd Irish.

Rovers were first off the mark in the second half with raiding full back Steve Wiliams linking with Josh Morgan-Williams whose cross was met by Jeanne driving the ball over the bar.
Then Morgan-Williams ound Tooze who drove straight at Irish and Jeanne was off target with Rovers next attack.
Taunton were playing some good football as they pressed for an equaliser with James Regan hitting a tremendous drive wide.
Morgan-Wiliams was fleet of foot to win a corner cleared by Callum Mooney in the heart of the Town defence.
With a minute left Money appeared to foul Mullings and the referee harshly it seem ruled the defender had stopped a goal scoring opportunity and was shown a straight red card.
From the result free kick fully thirty yards out sub Adie Harris belted a thunderous free kick past Irish to make it 2-0.
Paulton are now away to Weymouth in the 3rd round to be played on Tuesday 12 January.
