Fellow Evostik Southern League Division 1 West rivals Winchester City were the visitors and
Paulton withstood sustained second half pressure and a great display from their keeper Andy Hannah.
Winchester had several chances with Pat Cox heading wide then shooting into the side netting.
James Byrne played in Kailan Gould only to curl wide. From a corner Rob Flooks headed into Hannah's hands.
Jack Ball and Gould combined and Ball's header saved by 'The Citizen's' keeper Ryan Pryce on the line.
Byrne then had a shot superbly tipped over by Pryce. Rovers goal came on 40 minutes from a right wing corner by captain Dale Evans headed home by Joe Chandler.
Rovers had another header from Ball saved by Pryce and then Winchester had several early second half chances as Cox twice tested Hannah.
Hannah was kept busy as the visitors pressed and 16 year old sub Ik Hill looks a player of great promise on the right.
Hannah blocked shots from Cox, Mlamba and Joe Haywood. Then in time added on the visitors had a goal ruled out for offside.
