REDDITCH UNITED 0 v 2 PAULTON ROVERS

Paulton traveledl to Worcestershire to face another promotion chasing side in Redditch United at the Valley Stadium and came home with all three points.

Paulton sealed a fifth successive win with a superb back to the wall performance at Reddditch after keeper Kyle Phillips was red carded.

They got off to a great start when captain Scott Brice hit a long ball flicked on by Michell Page and Scott Wilson was the first to react in the 2nd minute to slip the ball past home keeper Sam Hornby to make it 1-0.

George Caline twice headed wide for The Red's and then broke down the left found right winger Zach Sirrell but Dean Evans was on hand to block the danger.

Luke Shearer and Dan Scarr both had headers wide of Phillips goal.

Ash Williams along with Evans dominated midfield for Rovers and Page and Wilson threatened and chances fell to Jon Davies and Darren Jefferies as the Somersetmen sought a second.

Rovers started well in the second period and Brice headed wide from Davies's corner.

Paulton made it 2-0 on 52 minutes Davies broke down the right outpaced the defence and crossed for Page to turn the ball passed Hornby.

The possible turning point was 7 minutes later when Phillips rolling the ball on the ground to clear was tackled by debutant Courtney Baker-Richardson and then dragged him back and was shown a straight red stopping a goal scoring opportunity.

Sam Teale took the gloves and although tested with three shots and a confident cross from a Sirrell corner he and the defence helfd firm.

In the final minutes Jefferies broke found Evans whose shot was saved by Horney.
