'The Terras' lost out to Rovers who sealed a thrilling victory in a game that ebbed and flowed, though scrappy at time and nail biting second half for the large crowd.

Jon Davies shot wide after 2 minutes and then had a great run down the right winning a corner which he took from the left side. That was firmly headed home by Shayne Anson in the 10 minute with a slight deflection.

Paulton were good value for the lead and Scott Brice headed narrowly wide. Tim Sills responded for the 'Terra's' heading straight into home keeper Kyle Phillps hands.

Stuart Yetton shot wildly over for the visitors. On the half hour Davies linked with Mitchell Page and Scott Wilson as Rovers pressed for a second.

Dean Evans returning to Winterfield Road after hids move to Dorset was having a quiet game until he st up a chance for Yetton.

With two minutes of the half left Sills was shown a straight red for an alledged elbow on Clayton Green.

The second period saw a livlier display from Weymouth with the impressive winger Chris Shephard at the heart of many moves.

His shot on the hour was goal bound but blocked and then he found Evans whose shot was held by Phillips.

Davies drove wide on 70 minutes then Yetton nearly levelled hitting the post with Phillips beaten.

Sub Chris mcPhee caused a mixed up the home defence only to shoot weakly at Phillips.

With the referee showing to many yellow cards to both sides the game of in danger of boiling over.

Davies set up Jordan Walker cliping a half volley just wide.

Weymouth pressed to the end and a dangerous high lob from Ash Wells was well held by Phillips.
