ARLESEY TOWN 0 v 0 PAULTON ROVERS

Paulton played their penultimate away match of the season when they make the long trip to Arlesey Town.

Rovers gave a debut to 16 years old Zayn Alime who aquitted himself well in an injury hit Paulton side who did the relegaton threatened hosts no favours.

Left back Luke Abraham was prominant in several home attacks with Inhi Effiong dragging a good chance wide. His opposite number Sam Teale tried his luck from distance and Liam Monelle also shot wide for Rovers.

Effiong again waste an opportunity and Paulton should have taken the lead when Teale's free kick was headed wide by Scott Wilson with the goal at his mercy. Then Teale met a cross from Brad Abraham with a firm header well saved by keeper Nick Thompson.

The second half was a livelier affair and after 4 minutes a deep ball in from right back Martell Powell was chested down by Effiong and Luke Abraham blasted over.

Brad Abraham began to dominate the midfield for Paulton and he set up Danny Wring on a run from the half way line culminating in him firing over the bar.

On 64 minutes Kyle Phillips pulled off a series of point blank saves first from Effiong then from the rebound to Zane Reynolds and superbly touched the ball away from Jack Vassey.

Rovers lost Wring and Stuart Tovey through injury, but battled for that elusive goal on a bouncy pitch.

Alime worked well with Wilson whose shot was blocked.

The Blues brought on Saul Williams who had a spell on loan at Rovers whilst at Forest Green Rovers last season and the former Tottenham Hotspurs trainee hit the cross bar and from the rebound Powell's shot was parried away by man of the match Phillips.

In the final minute Alime broke down the left found Monelle whose pass to Wilson gave the striker a chance to shoot goalward only for Powell to deflected the ball away.
