PAULTON ROVERS 1 v 2 DORCHESTER TOWN

This weekend is final home game and penultimate match of Paulton Rovers first successful season in the Evostik Southern League Premier.

The Magpies goal after two minutes seal matters although Paulton were denied what looked like two clear cut penalties.

With virtually the first attack Rovers gave the ball away and right back Sam Lanahan pressed on to slip the ball past Kyle Phillips.

Brad Abraham fed Liam Monelle hit the cross bar with no one following up Town cleared the danger.

Ben Watson was lively upfront for the visitors and his firm shot was parried by Phillips and Dan Smith following up miss hit the ball falling into the hands of a grateful Phillips.

With half time looming Watson got down the left laid the ball to Lewis Morgan whose thgunderous shot was brilliantly saved by Phillips.

Then he saved with his feet from Smith's half volley.

Rovers started brightly and left back Sam Teale brought a finger tip save from keeper Alan Walker-Harris from a free kick. Then Rovers first shout for what looked a certain penalty when Dorchester player-manager Mark Jermyn handle from Ashley Williams shot.

On 72 minutes a second penalty appeal was waved away as Abraham's shot was pushed away.

Town added a second on 88 minutes as Scott Brice sliced a long ball, Phillips charged out of goal to clear but Jason Brookes beat him to the ball and laid it to Tarbuck who tapped into an empty goal.

In injury time Paulton pulled a goal back as the ball swirlled around in the area Teale turned and clip the ball past Walker-Harris.
