Preview by Jon Green

High flying, Wimborne Town, will be the visitors to The Winterfield Stadium on Tuesday evening.

Our guests have spent most of the season at the right end of the league table, never dropping below 4th spot. Up until this weekend they had spent the previous eight weeks in first spot only dropping due to the fact they didn't have a game. They were overtaken by Frome and Cribs whom have both played more games.

They have been in tremendous form in recent weeks; a run that was halted by a 3-1 defeat to Larkhall. That match was abandoned in the final moments due to a serious injury to Jez Bedford and all at Paulton Rovers wish Jez well for his recovery. The result was confirmed to stand at a league meeting on Friday.

We have faced Wimborne twice this season already; both games in the FA Cup. The first, at New Cuthbury, was a 0-0 draw and the return match a 2-0 victory for Wimborne.

Although we only took one point, our games against Mousehole and Frome had seen a marked improvement. So it was frustrating to see the inconsistency return in Saturday's loss to Bristol Manor Farm. You can hear the thoughts of the boss on that game here.

Wimborne will be keen to put their recent defeat behind them and get back to the top of the table whilst the incentive of performing well against a top team will hopefully see the team return to better form.

There is some mixed news on the injury front. Dan Restorick misses out due to the injury he picked up on Saturday. However, Dan McBeam who also picked up an injury, will undergo a fitness test and could still make the squad. In his post match interview (as linked above), Kyle Tooze suggested it may be time to give the pack a shuffle and see how the fringe players perform. It remains to be seen exactly what those changes will be.

This will undoubtedly be one of the toughest games of the season so we'd love to have your support for the evening!
