Tough fought point for both sides

'The Crusader's' contributed to thriller yet with few chances as ten man Hungerford hung on for a deserved draw.

The visitors had the first attempt on goal when James Clark's fifth minute shot from distance went well wide.

The visitors dominated for long spells snubbed by a resolute Paulton defence well organised by captain Scott Brice.

Town looked to play wide for Alan O'Brien to raid down the left wing and he was trying to set up chances for striker Nat Jarvis and Mark Draycott. Rovers keeper Ben John was alert to snuff out any danger.

Minutes later the keeper was on hand to tip over a long lob from right back Rees Tyler which took a wicked bounce that took the ball flying towards the top left hand corner of the net.

Alex Grimshaw nearly set up Tom Knighton with a rare home attack but just before half time Sam Teale tried to get on the end of a deep Aaron Brown cross.

Paulton looked a different outfit in the second period and Michell Page was pressing the vistors defence.

The turning point was on 55 minutes when a Clark free kick was held by John and Draycott crash into him with which such force that he was shown a stright red card.

Rovers test Paul Strudley a when he handle outside the area was lucky only to be shown a yellow card. From the resultant free kick ex Bristol City star Aaron Brown, now Paulton’s player coach, thumped his free kick low down on the right hand post with Strudley well beaten. However the ball eluded any Rovers player and the Hungerford defence cleared their lines.

Grimshaw hit a long cross field ball to Brown and the ball fell to Ben bament who blast over as the home side looked to snatch the lead.

Teale hit a long shot which bounced off a defender for a corner. In response sub Kelvin Bossmen saw his drive blocked by Osman.

In the dying minutes Grimshaw found Brown and his 30 yard shot was narrowly wide.
