Paulton went down to yet another close defeat this time to Merthyr Town, but defeat it was in a game they battled well only to lack final fire power.
In an even first half both Rovers wingers Ben Bament and Kyle Tooze were lively whilst Ian Traynor had a shot blocked as Merthyr pressed.
The visitors took the lead on 33 minutes as Corey Jenkins cut in from the right and his cross was deflected by Paulton youngster Alex Grimshaw past Ben John in the home goal.
Paulton pressed hard in the opening stages of the second half but the Martyrs made it 2-0 as Elliott Scorcher cut the ball back to captain Ashley Evans who curled the ball home after 66 minutes.
Rovers pulled a goal back 10 minutes later from a Tooze corner on the right sub Peter Trego the Somerset cricket all rounder won a header and Craig Allan followed up to head in.
