PAULTON ROVERS 2 v 0 CHESHAM UNITED

Chesham United might have an eye on the FA Cup trip to Bradford City but Paulton secured their first league win of the season. Although the visitors started well as Bruce Wilson's free kick was headed wide by George Fenton.

Jordan Ricketts had Paulton's first chance then Kelvin Bossman responded with a great pass which Dave Pearce was on the end of a great chance.

Leon Jeanne brought a fine save from the Generals keeper Shane Gore as Rovers had a period of sustained pressure. Not to be out done Paulton stopper Ben John pulled off a point blank save from Bossman.

On 25 minutes Toby Little hit a free kick against the foot of the post. Four minutes later Jeanne won a corner on the left which he cross for Ricketts to chip in, flicked on by Sol Wheatley to Josh Morgan-Williams to toe poke home to give Paulton the lead.

Brad Wadkins headed wide for the visitors looking certain to score from Bossman's cross.

Wadkins had a chance on the restart and Rovers responded when Ricketts fired over. Dave Pearce should have levelled put through by Wadkins only for John to smootherly brilliantly.

Ricketts made it 2-0 to Rovers after 59 minutes fastening onto a through ball from Morgan-Williams and slotting past Gore.

Jeanne hit a solid free kick which Gore turned around the post. Shortly afterwards Chesham striker Bossman was shown a straight red card apparently for something he said to the referee.

Wheatley split the United defence but Darren Mullings was ruled offside then Morgan-Williams was off side from Jeanne's cross.

In the dying minute Wheatley hit over the top from Paulton and sub Sam Youngs through for Chesham fired wide with the goal at his mercy.
