MAWFORD HAT TRICK NOT ENOUGH FOR ROVERS WIN

Manager Tony Ricketts will be disappointed his side did not take three points from their encounter with Slough Town.

Paulton had a chance in the fourth minute when Jake Mawford put through by Darren Mullings blast over the crossbar from 10 yards out.

He did score five minutes later as Mullings pass was flicked on by Sol Wheatley cand Mawford ran on to slip the ball past Rebels keeper Mark Scott.

Two minutes later Slough pulled one back as Lewis Putman's cross was met by a looping header by Ed Smith and it sailed over Rovers keeper ben John.

Lee Barnley had a chance to level only to hit wide then Mullings responded with a shot blocked by Dan Hicks.

Mawford nearly added to his tally as he volleyed the ball bounced wickedly and hit an unsuspecting Scott on the head for a corner.

With half time approaching Barnley broke through and his attempt to chip John was twarted by the stopper.

Mullings was put through by Mawford with Scott saving with is feet.

Slough equalised in spectacular style Putman wide on the left hit a deep cross that sailed over John into the net.

Three minutes later the visitors went ahead with confusion in the six yard box and Smith slip the ball to Barnley to score.

Paulton seem to lose control over midfield and twice Rovers kicked off the line and Barnley through saw his effort smothered by John.

However they should have levelled on 73 minutes as Wheatley's cross saw Jordan Ricketts head over inside the 6 yard box when he seemed certain to score.

John saved from Putman and hits headed over from Warren harris's cross.

Paulton grabbed the equaliser on 89 minutes Mullings found Mawford who hammered a low shot past Scott to the delight of the Rovers faithful.
