Despite their long trip to face Kettering Town, Paulton were the more enterprising in a first half where left winger Sol Wheatley was outstanding until he limped off with a nasty foot injury a minute before the break. However they were undone by two late goals against the run of play
For 'The Poppies' Liam Canavan blasted high and wide then Jordan Ricketts unusually playing right back stopped James Brighton.
On the half hour Wheatley found Mario Mateus and Rovers' diminutive striker turned his marker Brett Solkhorn and lobbed disappointingly over the bar.
The second half was moments old when Jake Mawford fired over the bar for the visitors and Ben John saved at the feet of Spencer Weir-Daley.
Nuno Felix was defending well for Paulton and deflected Canavan's shot for a corner from which Herve Pepe-N'Goma fired over.
With Rovers dominating for long periods Kettering scored in the 89th minute a deflected pass fell to Canavan who shot home.
From the kick off Paulton lost the ball and Weir-Daley crossed for Silvano Obeng to head home.
A result Tony Ricketts men did not deserve!
