WINCHESTER CITY 1 v 1 PAULTON ROVERS

Paulton levelled in added on time against Winchester City when sub Jack Ball struck.

The game was largely dictated by Winchester's long ball which was effective in the first half but less so in the second period.

Rovers keeper Andy Hannah was twice called upon to block two shots from Ben White and then he was swiftly out of his area to smother the ball at the feet of the lively England C international Oli Bailey.

Mario Mateus was narrowly off target and Dale Evans's free kick was fisted away by 'Citizen's' stopper Ryan Pryce.

Then Rob Carr had put the hosts headed on the stroke of half time. Sam Hedges mis-placed pass was intercepted by Carr who ran on to slip the ball passed Hannah.

Paulton had a great chance on 49 minutes as Liam Monelle raced around the keeper but with the goal at his mercy hitting the side netting. He had another great chance after Josh Morgan-Williams, Mateus and sub Dave Sims set him up.

Winchester should have added a second as Simba Mlambo cut through the Rovers defence and thankfully Joe Chandler got back to clear for a corner.

James Byrne had moved into midfield was was setting up several half chances that could not be converted.

Bailey was well marshalled by skipper Josh Ford but jinked through to chip the ball wide.

City's right back Dan Williams cross was pushed away by Hannah and Mlambo fluffed his follow up.

Byrne whipped in two free kick from the left that created panic in the home defence and were grateful to Pryce.

As Rovers constantly attacked in the last ten minutes and were rewarded as Morgan-Williams cross for Ball to powerfully flick the ball past Pryce.
