Following a monumental effort by volunteer fans, staff & players to get the game on, Paulton were edged out by a single second half goal against Kidlington.
After a cagey opening 10 minutes, it was the away side who produced the first real chance of the game in the 12th minute when centre midfielder Declan Benjamin fired just wide with the outside of his right foot.
10 minutes later it was Paulton's Mitch Tippins who looked set to give Rovers the lead but his two close range shots were somehow kept out by a resolute Kidlington defence. A golden chance followed for Rovers minutes later when Liam Monelle squared the ball to Jack Ball 8 yards out only to be denied by a point blank save by keeper Sam Warrell.
It was honours even at half-time, however the goal of the game came inside the first minute of the second half when Kidlington's striker Connor McDonagh latched onto a long ball down the left side, turned defender Tippins and finished into the bottom corner.
Rovers went in search of the equaliser and it was Omar Simpson who almost got it in the 63rd minute after jinking inside two Kidlington defenders and thundered a shot goalwards but again the Kidlington keeper matched it with a flying save.
Rovers continued to push forward bombarding the Kidlington defence with crosses from either flanks but it was not to be for the home side and it was the away side that hung on for all 3 points.
