Rovers move to third Report by Tony Walsh

Paulton gave a repeat performance this tie in the league and the same scoreline recorded in last Saturday's FA trophy game.

Manager Nick Bunyard had guarded against complacency against a fit Bishops Cleeve side.

Rovers started brightly but disaster struck in the fourth minute when a cross from Edward Williams on the left struck Paulton central defender Marcus Mapstone and the referee somewhat harshly awarded a penalty which Joe Hanks thumperd past Kyle Phillips.

Paulton pressed for an equaliser and Mike Perrott saw a shot blocked, then Ollie Price should have done better with his header from Dean Evans cross. James Billing was causing the 'Mitres' defence lots of problems and he was linking well with his strike partner Nick McCootie.

Rovers piled on the chances and a delicate pass down the left by Dan Cleverley found Brandon Barnes who found Mapstone whose shot was blocked. A lovely move down the left between Cleverley and Barnes played into Billing, but his shot was blocked for a corner.

Rovers got back into the game after thirty seven minutes when Perrott and McCootie worked the ball into Barnes path on the right wing. He cut inside and hit a cracker low into the bottom corner of the keeper's net.

Paulton came out determined and working hard as a team and got their reward after fifty three minutes when a misplaced pass by Cleeve captain Matt Williams went straight to McCootie who drove the ball past visiting keeper Loouis Barn farther.

The work rate from Rovers was impressive although giving the away easily was causing concerns from the supporters.

Their anxiety was eased after sevety five minutes when a deep cross from right back Price was flicked on by Josh Klein-Davies on as sub for McCootie, Perrott now in an advanced position fastened onto the ball round the keeper to make it 3-1.

JKD and Perrott were creating chances whilst a thirty yard piledriver from Evans narrowly dipped over the bar.

In the ninetith minute Paulton made it 4-1 with a sweet move. Cleverley sweept a deep ball out to Barnes on the left wing. He raced to the byline pulled his cross back to the sponsor's man of the match Perrott to notch his second.

Rovers move up to third place with this win.
