The kick off time was changed to 3-07 p.m. as a mark of remembrance of the 96 people killed during the Hillsborough disaster 25 years ago.

The match was preceded by a period of reflection.

Paulton secured all three points, that keeps them in the play off hunt, against Bridgwater Town who had overall the balance of play .

Nick McCootie hit an early cross shot that no one got on the end of. Bridgey responded when Kazim Rendell tested home keeper Kyle Philipps.

McCootie had a chance to put Rovers ahead but shot weakly. Marcus Mapstone filling in at left back was preventing the dangerous Rendell from threatening the home goal.

Paulton lost central defender Ryan Batten just before half time. The experienced Dean Flockton came on for his debut. The former Thatcham Town captain who has played from Frome has recently moved to the area. He provided solid resitance.

The last action of the half saw Jake Mawford hit a firm shot straight into Phillips hands.

Rovers came out with more determination and Mike Perrott and captain Dan Cleverley combined to find Saul Williams before Nathan Rudge stopped his advance.

Paulton hit the only goal of the game after 56 minutes. McCootie fended off Geraint Bater sent Luke Ballinger down the right wing and his cross was met by Perrott to head into the net.

Phillips pulled off two saves from Tom Knighton, who also had a shot blocked by Stuart Tovey.

Roivers had a great chance to make it 2-0. Mapstone broke up an attack on 70 minutes passed to McCottie who cut inside laid the ball to Ballinger and his shot across goal was cleared off the line by Bater.

Bridgey tried to get the equaliser they deserved but Mapstone, Dean Flockton and Scott Brice held firm although Karl Tooze saw two shots held by Phillips
