Rovers move second

Rovers youngsters entertained Keynsham Town in the League, looking to return to winning ways and to avenge a narrow defeat at Keynsham earlier in the season.

Rovers welcomed back keeper Billy Garrett, a long term absentee through injury.

The game started fairly evenly and it was no surprise to see Keynshams physical and long ball approach, which was comfortably dealt with by Rovers rear guard.

Despite having good possession and a number of chances, Rovers did not open their account until 35 minutes.

This came following a nice passing move from the midfield, which saw Josh Collins breeze past the static Keynsham Town defence and he made no mistake in slotting the ball home past the helpless Keynsham keeper, 1-0.

5 minutes later, Joe Curtis broke down then left and a neat pass found Nathan Beauchamp who unleashed a fine strike which was brilliantly saved by the Keynsham keeper.

Half Time 1-0 Rovers.

Rovers pressed Keynsham immediately at the start of the second half and the early pressure paid off on 50 minutes, when a fine cross from the left by Nathan Beauchamp found the head of Jack Francis and his bullet header made it 2-0 to Rovers.

Keynsham continued with their physical approach, trying to upset Rovers and Keynshams number 8 was booked following a number of incidents, this time after kicking out off the ball.

Unfortunately some Rovers players were starting to unnecessarily get involved and concentration levels dropped allowing Keynsham to snatch a goal back on the hour, the ball being drive home following a corner.

Rovers regained their composure and again started to press and Keynshams keeper made a couple of smart saves to keep the score at 2-1.

Rovers From : Billy Garrett, Charlie Giles, Jabriel Mohammed, Dane Edwards ( Captain ), Niall Taylor, Josh Rice, Josh Collins, Joe Curtis, Nathan Beauchamp, Kyle Box, Jack Francis, Amari Hylton, Farhan Sulleyman, Ryan Ness, Jamie Mccudden and Owen Knight.
