Paulton bear near neighbour's Report by Wayne Roberts

In their final pre season friendly Paulton Reserves travelled to take on Farrington. In a fast paced first 15 minutes, Farrington were dominating and it wasn’t long before they took the lead.

Paulton then changed formation to 4-4-2 and began to take control. They got back level when a decent move through the team ended up with Whittock beating the keeper with a long distance shot.

Rovers were now gaining in confidence and went further ahead with a move down the right which saw Farr knock an inch perfect cross that found Jenkins who slotted home to make it 2-1.

Half time.

Farrington started to attack with determination to get back level and they created many good chances that were either saved by keeper Simon Chivers or blocked by Paulton’s defence who were playing as if it was a cup final.

Paulton made many changes throughout the 2nd half and the fresh legs helped as they caught Farrington out with a counter attack.

Boateng was in the clear with 3 others players in support, he tried to lob the keeper who managed to parry it only for the ball to fall to Cottle who scored with a shot that went in after looking as if it was on its way over the bar.

A good pre season for the res, 3 wins from 4 games.
