Rovers suffer replay

BUILDBASE FA TROPHY 1st Qualifying Round

Larkhall grabbed a draw with a late penalty in a second half strewn with yellow cards, and a red card for each side.

Paulton had the better in the first half and Ed Butcher's drive was touched goalwards by Ben Bament only for Wayne Nderemani to clear off the line.

On ten minutes Rovers took the lead as Butcher's left footed corner from the right was firmly headed home by Ryan Gay.

Former Paulton midfielder Dale Evans twice tested home keeper Joe Perry who was equal to the task.

Rovers midfield of Brad Abraham and Braeden Symes were creating several chances linking with Butcher and Ben Withey on the right whilst left back Nuno Felix was outstanding in building moves down the left side.

A speculative lob from the half way line by Dan Restorick was well watched by Perry as it sailed over the bar by a foot.

Paulton should have made it two on 41 minutes as Bament thread through to Withey who inextricably missed the target.

On the restart Gay should have converted Withey's cross whilst Larks had a great chance on 53 minutes as Mike Baker headed wide from Evans's cross and then Cory Simpson missed the target.

Larks veteran Geraint Bater stupidly kicked out at Braeden Symes and was shown a red card.

Again Rovers had a chance on 72 minutes as Withey's left wing corner clipped the cross bar and the ball dropped to captain Charlie Hitchings who hit the post.

Larkhall equalised on 80 minutes as Lewis Powell bore down on goal and was fouled by Craig Allan who was red carded. Powell struck a firmly took spot kick to level.

Powell had a great chance turning and shooting wide whilst in added time Jake Sloggett cut in from the right and tested Semmens.

So it's a replay at Larkhall on Wednesday 6 November K-O 7-45 p.m.
