Paulton sufffered a disappointing defeat, after going ahead and Devon side Feniton been awarded a highly controversial penalty decision.

The first chance fell to Feniton striker Megan Williams breaking through but shooting straight at Rovers keeper Emily Jones.

After soaking up a lot of pressure Paulton went ahead on 15 minutes as Yao Laver fastened on to a loose ball to hammer past Feniton keeper Sam Lacey.

A superb tackle by Paulton centre back Adele Rogers broke up an opponents attack setting up a Rovers move which saw Laver try a lob which went narrowly wide. Then from a free kick Beth Knight drew a fine save from Lacey.

Feniton levelled after 33 minutes as Williams ran on to drive a volley into the top of Rovers net.

Rovers goalkeeper Jones made two fine saves both times stopping Williams as the half time whistle blew.

On the restart, player of the match Jones was on hand to twice block an effort from Holly Stone.

Paulton pressed and Karagh Finch-O'Brien made a fine tackle to stop Rovers striker Adella Clarke and Enya Wilkinson had a good chance.

Jones again made a lovely save to prevent her side going behind, which they did shortly afterwards as Sian Aslett turned and hit a firm shot past Jones who had no chance.

With fifteen minutes left both sides were pressing in an end to end performance, when Aslett on the attack appeared to have lost the ball from a fine challenge by Summmer Hemings, to the amazement of the supporters of the both sides the referee blew for a penalty. Booking Summers and in the aftermath showing a second yellow to Jordan Box seeing her dismissed.

From the spot Sophie Skelton made it 3-1.

In the final minutes Knight's free kick whistled past the post.

Feniton on the day proved to be the better side.

Paulton team and manager Nick Doble were gracious in defeat probably through gritted teeth!
