Rovers slipped to defeat on Friday evening, going to down to higher league opponents in Chippenham Town.

The hosts got off to a great start, forcing a corner in the first couple of minutes from which Brandon Bak swept in the opener after the ball was headed down to him.

The rest of the half was very tight with both teams creating some half chances but not unduly testing the two keepers.

An early mistake at the back in the second half gave Chippenham the chance to equalise. A stumble on the ball allowed a forward to nip in and round the keeper to slot in.

The game was tight again for the rest of the half with a number of substitutions made. Neither team looked likely to add to their score until another late mistake at the back created a similar chance for the visitors. The ball was picked up, the keeper rounded with the ball rolled into the empty net.

It was another good workout for the squad and highlighted some areas to work on as we go into the next game at Almondsbury on Monday evening.
