Rovers up and down pre-season schedule continued at Portishead Town on Tuesday evening but despite a defeat, plenty of positives can be taken from the performance.

Portishead fielded a strong line-up and, arguably, should be higher league opposition although they were demoted after a controversial decision despite winning promotion to the Southern League Premier Division last season.

Brandon Bak continued his good form with two goals and an assist for trialist. Despite taking the lead, Portishead hit back to lead 3-1 at the break. Rovers hit back after half time but two more goals for the hosts gave them a 5-2 lead before Bak grabbed his brace close to the final whistle.

There were plenty pf positives to take from the game against a very tough opposition.
